- How do I get paid?

We process payments to your account within 72 hours. This includes new subscribers, membership renewals, or when you respond to an answer using Q&A. You can be paid directly to a US or EU bank account or to a US debit card (non-prepaid Visa, Mastercard or Discover).
We use Stripe to process payments. If you don't already have a Stripe account, we'll send you a link to set this up - it only takes a few minutes. It's free and secure. - How much does it cost to be an expert?
- Membership is 100% Free. We only take a 7% fee for bookings (Q&A, live 1:1 meetings) and a 15% fee for subscriptions, per successful charge. This covers payment processing, hosting, development, and other services.
- Subscriptions - How do they work?

Subscribers can pay to gain access to your videos hosted on ChampChat, and discounts for 1:1 video meetings and Q&A.
Videos - Upload videos sharing what you know for your subscribers. Your subscribers receive notifications when you add new videos. All videos are also fully searchable. You can engage with your subscribers with comments.
Subscription duration - You can offer monthly, 3-month and/or annual subscriptions.
Free Trials - Your followers can get started with a 7-day, 14-day or longer free trial. They are automatically billed once it expires unless they cancel before then. - Can you help move my videos from another service?
- We'll help move your videos for you, just fill out the free concierge migration form. If you have subscribers on another platform we'll also help strategize bringing them with you to ChampChat.
- Do I have access to subscriber data?
- Yes. You have access to the name, email address, and subscription status of your subscribers.
- Q&A's - How do they work?

Your followers pay to make requests, and you reply with a personalized response. Use for AMAs, technique/form video reviews, shoutouts, etc. You set the title, description, price, and answer type. Respond with short videos or text messages to answer their questions on your own time.
Answer type - You can choose the response type for the product to be text or video. If you choose text, you still have the option to respond with a video.
Response time - You can answer on your own time and have 7 days to respond. If you don't respond with an answer within 7 days, the question will be automatically expired and the client will be refunded.
Answer length - The typical video answer should be 5-10 minutes. You can also define other answer durations and custom pricing.
Reject question - If you cannot answer a question for any reason, you can reject the question and optionally provide a reason to who ordered it. This will refund the client automatically.
Answer privacy - When making the question, the requester can choose to make a question private. Otherwise, the question is public, and you can include it as a sample on your profile and add it to your videos available to subscribers. - 1:1 Meetings - How do they work?

Coaching, lessons, training plan reviews, or any other format. Set the title, description, duration and the price. ChampChat will handle the scheduling. Set your availability and your followers can book a timeslot.
Scheduling - You'll receive an email notification with your client's details once booked. You can then confirm or reject the meeting request. You can also reschedule the meeting by suggesting other times.
Availability - You can set your weekly availability for each day of the week. Clients can book their meetings based on this availability and the meeting duration. We take into account any existing ChampChat meetings you have on your calendar. Included in each notification email to your and your client is a calendar invite.
Video calls - You decide with your client which platform to use for your live video call. When confirming your meeting with the client, include the meeting link and instructions. We recommend Google Meet which is free for meetings up to 60 minutes. Select "New Meeting", "Create a meeting for later", and send the link to your client.
Payments - We authorize payment when the client books their meeting. You have up to 7 days to confirm the meeting before it expires. Once confirmed we capture the payment from your client.
For Learners
- How do I cancel a subscription?
- You can cancel a subscription anytime by going to Billing from the settings page, and cancel the associated plan. Your subscription will be canceled and not renewed, but is still available until the end of your billing period.
- When can I expect to receive my Q&A answer?
- The expert has 7 days to answer until the request expires, but typically it's within 3 days.
- How long will my Q&A answer be?
- Experts typically respond with 5-10 minute answers unless specified otherwise.
- How do payments work for Q&A?

When you order your request, we will authorize your card for the total amount but only charge your card after the expert has completed their answer. If the question expires or the expert cancels the order, you will not be charged.
If you'd like to cancel your question once ordered, there is a 30% fee as the expert may have already begun to prepare their answer.
We provide a satisfaction guarantee. If you are dissatisfied with your answer, email us and we will provide a full refund. - How do payments work for 1:1 Meetings?

When you book your meeting, we will authorize your card for the total amount. We only charge your card after the expert has confirmed your meeting. If the booking expires after 7 days before being confirmed or the expert cancels the order, you are not charged.
There is no cancellation fee if you cancel up to 48 hours before the meeting if it was not yet confirmed by the expert. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the meeting, you will be charged 30% of the full meeting price.
Once your meeting has been confirmed, you can no longer cancel for a refund but you can always reschedule.
